Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and motivated LCV/Van Technician to join our workshop team. The role involves carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a fleet of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) to ensure maximum reliability, safety, and compliance.

The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on LCVs /Vans
  • Carry out vehicle inspections and safety checks in line with DVSA standards
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
  • Complete MOT preparation work and ensure vehicles meet compliance requirements
  • Conduct road testing to confirm repairs and fault resolution
  • Use diagnostic equipment and software to identify faults accurately
  • Maintain accurate job cards, service records, and inspection reports
  • Work collaboratively with workshop staff to meet deadlines and targets
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations
  • Keep the workshop clean, organised, and safe
Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as an LCV/Van Technician / Vehicle Technician
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, servicing, and diagnostics
  • Experience with electrical systems and fault finding
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Experience in a workshop environment
Qualifications & Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience using diagnostic tools and software
  • MOT Tester licence (desirable)
  • IMI or City & Guilds qualifications (advantageous)
Desirable Experience

  • Experience working with fleet or commercial vehicles
  • Knowledge of hybrid and electric LCVs
  • Previous dealership or fleet workshop experience
