Van Driver (Afternoon)

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and professional Van Driver (Afternoons) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely, primarily during afternoon shifts. This role requires excellent driving skills, organisational ability, and a strong focus on customer service. The position offers an engaging work environment with opportunities to develop your driving and logistical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a van to deliver goods to various locations within designated routes during afternoon hours.
• Load and unload items, ensuring they are secured properly for transit.
• Plan efficient delivery routes to optimise time and fuel consumption.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or any delays.
• Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including delivery logs and vehicle checklists.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations at all times.
• Assist with warehouse tasks such as heavy lifting when required, maintaining organisation of stock.

Experience

• Previous experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving is preferred.
• Proven ability to operate a van or similar commercial vehicle safely and responsibly.
• Experience in warehouse environments or logistics operations is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, demonstrating physical fitness for the role.
• Familiarity with route planning and navigation tools is desirable but not essential.

Salary & Terms:

• 1pm to 9pm
• 6 days a week
• 8 hour shifts
• weekly pay
