13 April 2021SheffieldFull-TimeThe University is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Records Manager based within the University Secretary’s Office to help improve compliance with data protection legislation and the management of records and information. The role offers you the opportunity to play a key part in improving information management across the University, and in particular:-The completion and maintenance of Information Asset Registers, incorporating the requirements of a Record of Processing Activity (ROPA).Improving the retention and disposal of records and data.Implementation of an Information Classification scheme.Improving record keeping systems and practices across the University.Reporting of progress and providing assurance to the University’s managementThere will also be the opportunity to identify records worthy of long term digital preservation and the analysis and improvement of digital and hard copy record keeping systems.This is a new role aimed at pro-actively engaging with Departments and information asset owners across the University. You will also work with other colleagues from academic and professional services, in particular IT Services and the existing Data Protection and Records Management teams. You will need to demonstrate an ability to work independently and to develop, maintain and deliver your own workload within a broader programme of work.
