The role of Head of Cataloguing, Taxonomy and Data leads and continues the transformation of the Catalogue and Taxonomy Department from its original analogue and operational focus into a digitally minded and thriving multidisciplinary team that provides intellectual control for TNA''s collection regardless of medium.6 November 2022Responsibilities
Lead and transform the Catalogue and Taxonomy Department to operate as a digitally minded, multidisciplinary team.Provide intellectual control for The National Archives collection across all media.Drive the development of the linked data pan archival catalogue service.Manage sensitive issues and provide expert advice related to the catalogue.Share experiences and practices with archivists around the world to advance archival practice for digital records.Person specification / Qualifications
Senior archivist capable of operating at the centre of the institution''s work with a strong leadership presence.Experience leading a group of expert professionals to ensure intellectual control of holdings.Opportunity to transform the management of the archive''s catalogue through linked data and pan archival catalogue service.Comfortable with the complexities of The National Archives'' catalogue and able to manage sensitive issues and provide expert advice.Willingness to pioneer new archival practices for digital records and to engage outwardly with the global archival ..... full job details .....
