Escape Recruitment are working with an established engineering organisation to recruit a Utilities Project Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering or project delivery professional looking to take ownership of a significant capital projects function, combining operational leadership, commercial management, customer relationships and project delivery.

You will lead and develop a Capital Projects Delivery team, taking responsibility for projects from initial survey and estimating through to planning, installation, commissioning and final closeout.

You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading, developing and managing a project delivery team.

• Taking ownership of capital projects from inception through to completion.

• Managing project budgets, forecasts, commercial performance and profitability.

• Overseeing project planning, scheduling, resource allocation and delivery.

• Managing NEC3 contractual requirements.

• Producing project, operational and financial reports.

• Managing project risks, issues and recovery plans.

• Building strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.

• Working closely with engineering, operations, finance, procurement and commercial teams.

• Ensuring projects meet health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.

• Driving continuous improvement across project delivery.

• Supporting business development through technical and commercial expertise.

• Coaching and developing team members.

We are looking for an experienced engineering/project professional with a strong combination of technical understanding, project delivery capability and commercial awareness.

You should have:

• Experience managing engineering and capital project delivery teams.

• A background in engineering, industrial installation or a related technical environment.

• Proven experience delivering complex projects.

• Strong project planning and coordination experience.

• Experience managing project budgets and commercial performance.

• NEC3 contract experience.

• Experience with P&L or departmental financial responsibility.

• Strong leadership and people management skills.

• Experience managing customer and stakeholder relationships.

• A good understanding of health & safety within engineering/construction environments.

• Experience producing project documentation, risk assessments and method statements.

• Strong planning, organisational and communication skills.

An Engineering degree, HND or equivalent relevant experience would be advantageous.

This is a genuine leadership position where you will have significant influence over project delivery, commercial performance, team development and customer relationships.

The role would suit someone who enjoys having ownership, making decisions and balancing the technical, operational and commercial sides of project delivery.
