The Role

As an Upper Key Stage 2 Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, creative and effective lessons that challenge and inspire pupils.

You will play an important role in supporting children''s academic, social and emotional development, while creating a positive classroom environment where every pupil feels valued, confident and motivated to learn.

You will work closely with colleagues, parents and the wider school community to ensure pupils receive the support and encouragement they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons across the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum.
• Provide high-quality teaching that challenges and motivates pupils of all abilities.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress, using assessment information to inform future teaching.
• Provide constructive feedback to help pupils understand their progress and identify areas for development.
• Foster a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence, creativity and a love of learning.
• Support pupils'' academic, personal, social and emotional development.
• Differentiate lessons and activities to meet the individual needs of pupils.
• Promote positive behaviour and maintain high standards of classroom management.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support whole-school priorities and pupil development.
• Build positive relationships with parents and carers and communicate effectively regarding pupils'' progress.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and participate in school events and activities.
• Ensure the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all pupils at all times.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain high standards of professional conduct.

Key Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• Experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2 is desirable.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the UKS2 curriculum.
• The ability to plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons.
• Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to differentiate teaching to meet the needs of pupils with different abilities.
• A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• A passion for education and helping children reach their full potential.
• A commitment to continuous professional development.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative school team.
• ECTs are welcome to apply.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
