Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 15:30pm
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only

The Role
Spencer Clarke Group are currently recruiting for Unqualified Teaching Assistants to work within specialist provisions across the Skelmersdale area.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a career within education and gain valuable experience supporting children and young people with additional needs.
You will work alongside experienced teaching staff to provide support both in and outside of the classroom, helping pupils to engage with learning, develop their confidence and overcome barriers to education.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
- Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning tasks.
- Supporting pupils with additional, behavioural, social and emotional needs.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Encouraging engagement, confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
- Supporting pupils to manage emotions and challenging situations.
- Helping to maintain a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.
- Following individual learning, behaviour and support plans.
- Working closely with teachers and wider support staff to meet individual needs.
- Promoting positive attitudes towards learning and personal development.
Essential Requirements
- Enhanced Child DBS - you must already have one on the Update Service or be happy to apply and pay for a new enhanced child DBS.
- Minimum 24 months of employment references.
- No significant gaps in employment history.
- A genuine interest in supporting children and young people within specialist education.
- Reliable, patient and professional approach.
- Ability to work Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 15:30pm, during term time.
