Unqualified SEN Teaching AssistantRole PurposeThe Unqualified SEN Teaching Assistant provides support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their individual goals. Working under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO, the post holder will support pupils academically, socially, emotionally, and physically within the classroom and around the school.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities tailored to individual pupils'' needs.Provide one-to-one and small group support as directed.Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils develop social and emotional skills.Promote pupils'' independence, confidence, and self-esteem.Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of learning materials, and maintaining a safe learning environment.Observe and record pupils'' progress, behaviour, and wellbeing, reporting concerns to the appropriate staff.Support pupils during breaktimes, lunchtimes, educational visits, and school activities where required.Follow Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), behaviour support plans, and guidance provided by teaching staff.Assist with personal care where required, following appropriate training and safeguarding procedures.Build positive ..... full job details .....
