We are working with a well-regarded Secondary School in Colchester that is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Unqualified English Teacher to join its English department. Job Overview:

• Full-time, Monday - Friday Unqualified English Teacher role.
• Deliver pre-planned and supported English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Support students in developing their reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills.
• Create an engaging and positive classroom environment that promotes learning.
• Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of students of varying abilities.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to support achievement.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and expectations.
• Work closely with experienced teachers, department leaders, and support staff.
• Contribute to the wider school community and enrichment opportunities.

What We''re Looking For:

• A degree in English, English Literature, Creative Writing, Journalism, or a related subject is desirable.
• Experience working with young people in an educational, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or youth work setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for English and helping students achieve their potential.
• Confidence managing groups of students and maintaining positive classroom behaviour.
• A proactive, professional, and enthusiastic approach.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
