Ultrasound Clinical Specialist Sonographer (Visa Sponsorship Available)

£61.93k - £68.68k per annumDetailed job description and main responsibilities• To provide timely, efficient and courteous provision of ultrasound services to the agreed standards inthe general ultrasound department.• To take responsibility for own caseload and report independently on the images at the time of theexamination and to discuss results, give reassurance when appropriate to patients• To be accountable for own professional actions and work within codes of Practice and professionalguidelines• To communicate complex information relating to conditions and procedures to staff, patients andcarers, and ensure informed consent for examinations.• To position patients accurately for each examination, adapting techniques in accordance with thepatient''s needs.• Deputise for the Clinical Specialist Manager in their absence.• Provide input into the overall staffing strategy for the Ultrasound Department, to enable smoothrunning of the service. This will include the reallocation of workload and/or resources as necessary.• To undertake specific roles in the day-to-day management of the department and will have specificduties within the service for which they will be expected to be responsible.• To supervise, train and appraise student sonographers and Radiology registrars.• Assess Radiology Registrar competency before they start their ultrasound lists and doing on-call.• Have a recognised professional qualification either as a Diagnostic Radiographer with the HealthcareProfession Council (HCPC) or other professional body.• Hold a recognised Postgraduate medical ultrasound qualification from an accredited higher educationalinstitution (HEI).• Responsible for own continued professional development (CPD) undertaking various evidencedactivities.• Develop working partnerships and encourage effective communication between stakeholders.• Anticipate barriers to effective communication and take steps to improve them.• Communicate effectively with staff within and outside of the department to ensure the smoothoperation of services.Person specificationNHS experienceEssential criteriaRecent NHS experienceMinimum of 2 years experience as a qualified sonographerPg Dip in medical ultrasound or equivalent professional qualificationEvidence of relevant continuous professional development (CPD)Desirable criteriaHealth Professions Council (HCPC) Registration.Employer certification / accreditation badgesApplicant requirementsYou must have appropriate UK professional registration.This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.Documents to downloadBand 8A Sonographer JD (PDF, 272.4KB)Denmark Hill Site Map (PDF, 1.2MB)Visa and Sponsorship Information (PDF, 352.6KB)Apply ..... full job details .....
