Experience teaching phonics is essential. Experience delivering a structured phonics programme is preferred; we use the Read Write Inc. (RWI) phonics scheme and can provide training. The role will primarily focus on supporting children who are just below age-related expectations and helping them to catch up. There will also be opportunities to support children in Reception and Year 2, including some children with SEND. RWI planning and resources will be provided. The successful candidate should be well organised and confident in using assessment information to identify gaps and inform future planning.
