About the Role

We are recruiting Experienced TBM Drivers / Operators to work on a major shaft sinking and tunnelling project in the North West UK. This is a long-term opportunity offering up to five years of consistent work on a high-profile infrastructure scheme.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) safely and efficiently
• Control and monitor TBM systems including excavation, thrust, guidance, and slurry/segment systems
• Ensure tunnelling is carried out in line with design parameters and method statements
• Monitor ground conditions and respond to operational changes
• Work closely with engineers, shift supervisors, and tunnelling teams
• Assist with TBM maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting
• Maintain accurate operational records and reports
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience as a TBM Driver / Operator on tunnelling projects
• Strong understanding of TBM operations, systems, and tunnelling processes
• Experience working in shaft sinking and underground environments
• Confined Spaces certification (Medium/High Risk) - essential
• Valid medical certificate (safety-critical) - essential
• Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends
• Strong teamwork and communication skills

Desirable

• Experience operating Herrenknecht and/or Iseki TBMs - highly advantageous
• Experience on EPB or Slurry TBMs
• CSCS card
• First Aid certification
• Experience on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects
