Our client, a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Stourbridge, is seeking an experienced Tube Laser Machine Coordinator to join their growing production team.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the setting, operation, and coordination of a Bodor Tube Laser Machine, ensuring components are manufactured accurately to specification while maximising material utilisation and minimising waste.
Key Responsibilities
- Set, operate, and coordinate the Bodor Tube Laser cutting machine.
- Carry out daily machine start-up and shutdown procedures.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and basic servicing.
- Complete machine alignment procedures and optic cleaning to maintain optimal performance.
- Monitor gas levels and support production planning activities.
- Ensure all products are manufactured in accordance with engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Carry out quality inspections and maintain accurate production records.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures.
- Report any machine, quality, or production issues promptly.
- Support wider production and manufacturing activities as required.
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum of 3 years'' experience operating CNC Laser or CO2 Laser cutting machines.
- Previous experience operating tube laser machinery would be highly advantageous.
- Experience with laser cutting brands such as Bodor, Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf, or similar.
- Knowledge of CNC programming and nesting software.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
- Experience preparing costings and quotations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible, proactive, and hands-on approach.
