Based in a remarkable Victorian pumping station in West London, the Museum is home to some of the world''s most important working steam engines. Our collections tell the story of how clean water transformed London, but we are not simply preserving the past. We are exploring how a working heritage site can help people engage with some of today''s biggest questions around water, energy, innovation and environmental sustainability. The Museum is entering an ambitious period of development. Alongside major conservation and audience development projects, we are exploring how historic steam power might operate without fossil fuels and what that could mean for the future of working industrial heritage. We are looking for Trustees who can bring professional expertise, fresh perspectives and a willingness to help guide an organisation that is ambitious, entrepreneurial and keen to do things differently.
