Location: Wakefield (5 mins from Westgate station)
Salary: £14.34 ph PAYE or £18ph umb
Contract: Temporary- possible permanent role
Hours: Full-time 35 hours per week. 3 days from the office and 2 days from home – (Friday from home and either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday)
Are you organised, compassionate and passionate about supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse? We’re looking for a Triage/Administrator to join a busy domestic abuse service in Wakefield.
You’ll combine administration, referral triage and case management support, acting as an initial point of contact for victim-survivors and providing information, advice and guidance to service users, professionals and partner agencies.
What You'll Be Doing
- Acting as the initial point of contact and triaging standard-risk referrals and self-referrals - Helpline
- Providing information, advice and guidance to service users and professionals
- Managing referrals, emails, telephone enquiries and case management records
- Identifying and responding appropriately to safeguarding and risk concerns
- Supporting multi-agency working, including MARAC, DRAM and IDART
- Maintaining accurate, confidential and GDPR-compliant records
- Providing general administrative support, preparing reports, letters and meeting minutes
- Attending team, case management and external meetings as required
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the service
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge and understanding of the issues facing women who have experienced domestic violence and abuse and/or sexual violence.
- An understanding of the impact of multiple, intersecting oppressions (e.g., sexism, racism, homophobia, ableism, etc) and the consequent barriers for some survivors of domestic abuse to accessing services.
- Knowledge and understanding of trauma and trauma symptoms.
- At least two years’ experience working within the domestic abuse sector (desirable).
- Experience in conducting needs and risk assessments.
- Experience in providing needs-led support to clients with a variety of support needs.
- Experience in building and maintaining partnerships with other agencies.
- DBS dated within the last 12 months or on the update service
