Triage and Prevention Officer

Are you an experienced homelessness prevention professional with a proven track record of successfully preventing and relieving homelessness in a busy frontline local authority environment? Bromley Council is seeking an experienced Triage and Prevention Officer to join its Housing Service, delivering high-quality housing advice, assessment and homelessness prevention interventions. This role is ideal for a housing professional who has extensive experience working with vulnerable households, making statutory homelessness decisions, negotiating successful prevention outcomes and managing complex cases. We are looking for someone with significant experience of homelessness prevention, housing options, statutory assessments and partnership working who can confidently manage a demanding caseload and achieve positive outcomes for residents at risk of homelessness. Key Responsibilities Act as the first point of contact for households who are homeless or threatened with homelessness. Conduct comprehensive assessments and determine duties owed under homelessness legislation. Deliver effective prevention and relief interventions to avoid homelessness and reduce the use of temporary accommodation. Develop and manage Personal Housing Plans, ensuring customers receive tailored advice and support. Negotiate with landlords, letting agents, lenders, family members and other stakeholders to secure sustainable housing solutions.
