Transport Planner

Recruit Assist are hiring an experienced Transport Planner for a Freight Distribution company in Hemel Hempstead. We are preferably looking for an experienced planner who will not need a lot of training and knows the job and has a passion for logistics and transport. The position is 4 on and 4 off with two different shift patterns: SALARY: £33,000.00 SALARY BONUS: Anual performance-based bonus of up to 8% of their basic salary SHIFT PATTERN NR 1: 7am 5pm SHIFT PATTERN NR 2: 9am and 7pm (these shifts will be covered each week Work Pattern: 4 on 4 off i.e. working four days and then being off for four days, including weekend and bank holiday. Additionally depending on business situations cover shifts might be required. Work Hours: 37.5 hrs week Leave entitlement: 24 days including bank holidays The department currently has 5 planners + 1 Team Leader Company overall size: 42 employees JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS: Planning and coordinating road transport movements Working closely with customers, hauliers, distribution centres Delivering reliable transport solutions Responsible for making day-to-day operational decisions Prioritising outstanding orders and consolidating loads Using transport system data, customer requirements, cost considerations Arrange transport with approved hauliers Coordinate collection and delivery Produce, maintain and distribute the daily Trunk Schedule and schedules.
