About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Transport Planner to join our team on a temporary assignment based onsite at our client Gist in Chesterfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, essential operation during the peak pre-Christmas period.
You will play a key role in planning and coordinating vehicle movements, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of goods.
Key Details:
- Pay: £14.42 per hour
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 17:00
- Duration: 1st December to 24th December
- Weekend Availability: Must be available to work Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st December, with a day off during the week in lieu
- Training: Mandatory training will take place in London mid-November (exact dates TBC) – accommodation provided during this period
- Planning and scheduling of vehicle routes and driver assignments
- Monitoring transport activities to ensure timely deliveries
- Communicating effectively with drivers, warehouse teams, and management
- Adjusting plans in real-time to manage changes, delays, or issues
- Using transport management systems (TMS) and other planning tools
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in a transport planning or logistics coordination role
- Strong IT and system skills (TMS experience beneficial)
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Flexible and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Must be available for London-based training and required weekend shifts
