Transport Planner

Trinity Business Support are working with an established family business in Gateshead, who are now looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join their operation.

Our client is looking for a dynamic individual with either a solid experience in transport planning or someone who has worked in and around transport that would like to move into a planning role.

The successful candidate will have close communication with key clients, as well as other haulage companies.

Main Duties:

Reporting directly to the GM, you will:

• Be part of a team and take responsibility for UK transport and movements.
• Within the role, you will be encouraged to create new business, giving potential into the wider UK regions, making a significant impact on the growth of the business, whilst working within an operational role.
• As a transport planner, you will become an expert on your product, confidently marketing the benefits of the business across the region and beyond.
• Be encouraged to build your own customer base by engaging with prospects via telephone, email and online communication.
• You will play a pivotal part in the success of the business at the Gateshead depot.

Requirements:

• Be experienced in the road freight forwarding / transport business operationally, with also the drive in the business growth at the branch.
• You will come with a proven background with transport
• Have the organisational skills to balance and prioritise numerous challenges within the business.
• Previous experience in a pallet network environment would be advantageous

Hours:

Monday to Friday

8hrs worked per day between the hours of 07.00-19.00
