Transport PlannerLocation: Bury St EdmundsHours: Full time, 45 hours per weekContract: PermanentThe RoleWe are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join a busy transport and logistics operation. This is a hands-on role responsible for planning and coordinating daily deliveries through a network of approved subcontracted transport providers.Working closely with customers, warehouse teams, sales colleagues and transport providers, you will ensure deliveries are planned efficiently, customer requirements are met and any operational issues are resolved quickly.This is an ideal opportunity for an organised and commercially aware transport professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change throughout the day.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and optimise daily delivery schedules to ensure efficient and cost-effective transport operations.Allocate work across a network of subcontracted transport providers.Maximise vehicle utilisation while maintaining excellent customer service levels.Monitor deliveries and respond quickly to delays, changes and customer requirements.Re-plan routes and deliveries where necessary to minimise disruption.Liaise with subcontracted hauliers regarding daily deliveries and collections.Clearly communicate delivery instructions, customer requirements and site restrictions.Monitor carrier performance and escalate issues where appropriate.Provide customers with delivery updates and manage transport enquiries.Work closely ..... full job details .....
