Transport Planner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Transport Planner to come and join a busy client in South Yorkshire on an initial 6 month contract basis. The main duties of the experienced Transport Planner are: To develop and deliver appropriate transport strategiesProvide advice on transport standards to relevant partners and stakeholdersRepresent the authority at regional and National meeting and forumsManage consultation process on planning applicationsContribute to maintaining and improving the existing partnerships within the Council and partners to deal with transportation issues.Support on the management of the capital and revenue budgets for relevant programmes ensuring the effective forward planning and budget monitoring of both budgets are kept up to date. Manage, monitor and review the quality and performance of suppliers and contractors delivering transportation services.To maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of relevant Transport policy. The experienced Transport Planner will have: Degree in Planning or Transport or a related SubjectDetailed knowledge and understanding of the transport policy, planning process, highways design standards, existing and emerging legislation, and policies relevant to the service area.Highly developed influencing and negotiating skills and the ability to reconcile conflicting issues.Experience in undertaking work across a range of specialist activities to successfully deliver transportation projectsUnderstanding project ..... full job details .....
