Position: Transport PlannerLocation: WakefieldSalary: £30,000 - £34,000 per yearOverviewOur client is looking for a Transport Planner to join their busy operations team in Wakefield, supporting the day-to-day coordination of transport operations, ensuring vehicles, drivers, and resources are utilised effectively.This opportunity would suit someone with 2-3 years'' experience within transport planning or general haulage operations who is looking to further develop their career within a fast-paced logistics environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and coordinate daily transport activities across UK road movementsAllocate work effectively across vehicles and drivers to maximise operational efficiencyLiaise with customers, drivers, and subcontractors regarding collections, deliveries, and updatesMonitor transport activity and proactively manage delays or operational issuesEnsure all transport documentation and system updates are completed accuratelySupport route planning and scheduling to meet customer requirements and deadlinesWork closely with internal teams to maintain service levels and operational performanceBuild and maintain strong working relationships with customers and suppliersRequirementsMinimum 2-3 years'' experience within a transport planning or transport operations rolePrevious experience within a general haulage environmentUnderstanding of UK transport operations, driver regulations, and planning processesAbility to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks ..... full job details .....
