Transport Planner

We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner based in Bedford for one of our clients on a Full time permanent basis. 

Summary of the Transport Planner role 

Salary: Competitive
Location: Bedford
Type of Contract: Permanent  
Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30am-5.30pm and 1 in 4 Saturday mornings 

Responsibilities of the Transport Planner

• Plan and coordinate transportation routes for efficient delivery of goods with excellent nationwide knowledge of road networks
• Help build runs for the general drivers
• Print and collate all driver’s paperwork
• Ensure drivers remain compliant
• Collaborate with internal teams
• Monitor and track drivers to ensure on-time delivery
• Maintain accurate records
• Communicate with drivers, carriers and customers to address any issues or concerns  

Requirements for a successful Transport Planner

•  Strong communication skills customer service skills
•  Strong geographical knowledge
•  Strong interest in transport planning and a willingness to develop knowledge in the field
•  Ability to be flexible
•  Good problem-solving skills
•  Full driving license with own transport is advantageous
