Transport Planner

We are currently recruiting for a Tranport Planner for a 3 month period (potentially longer) based in the Swindon area.

About the Transport Planner role:

• Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5pm (40 hours paid).-
• Salary is -30K pro rata-
• Temporary role - minimum 3 month period-
• Based in Swindon (SN3)
• Immediate start-

Duties & responsibilities for the Transport Planner role:

• Plan, optimise & communicate local and nationwide delivery routes for vehicles.-
• Effectively plan loads to vehicles ensuring on-time deliveries.-
• Ensure all routes are legally compliant in line with driver''s hours legislation, working time directive and vehicle weight restrictions
• Ensure all operational goals are met whilst maintaining focus on customer requirements
• Communicate efficiently and effectively with both team members and other departments-

Skills / Experience required for the Transport Planner role:-

• Strong planning and organisational skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously-
• Strong attention to detail-
• A good goegraphical knowledge is essential
• Excellent communication skilss-
• Previous experience of working in a planning or similar role is required-
• A good understanding of driver''s hours would be beneficial
• Good IT knowledge to include Microsoft Excel, Word etc-
