Transport Manager – Air Freight & European Transport

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000+ (DOE)
Hours: Monday – Friday | Day Shift (10-hour day)

Vanta Staffing are recruiting for an experienced Transport Manager (CPC) to join a well-established logistics operator specialising in air freight and European transport operations.

This is a key leadership role within an established transport management team, responsible for ensuring safe, compliant and efficient fleet operations across time-critical international logistics movements.

We are particularly interested in candidates with strong experience in European transport networks and/or air cargo logistics who are looking for a long-term opportunity within a growing and highly specialised operation.

The Opportunity

This role sits within an experienced Transport Management team and will see you overseeing a busy HGV fleet supporting air freight movements and European haulage operations.

You will play a vital role in maintaining operator licence compliance, fleet performance and driver standards, while working closely with planners, operations teams and senior leadership.

This position would suit a hands-on Transport Manager who thrives in fast-paced logistics environments such as air cargo, European groupage, chilled distribution, event logistics or specialist freight operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain full Operator Licence (O-Licence) compliance in line with DVSA and Traffic Commissioner standards

• Manage fleet compliance including tachographs, WTD, driver records and maintenance planning

• Oversee vehicle defect reporting, VOR management and preventative maintenance schedules

• Ensure driver compliance including licence checks, DCPC and training requirements

• Work closely with planners and operations teams to support time-critical transport operations

• Investigate incidents, accidents and compliance issues where required

• Support recruitment and onboarding of compliant PAYE drivers

• Monitor fleet performance and identify operational improvements

• Maintain accurate fleet records via the (url removed) Operator Licence system

• Ensure full adherence to site health & safety policies

About You

To be successful in this role you will bring strong industry experience and a proactive leadership style.

Essential

• Transport Manager CPC

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Transport / Fleet Management

• Experience within air freight transport operations and/or European haulage networks

• Strong knowledge of UK & EU transport legislation and compliance

• Proven ability to manage drivers, fleet compliance and operational standards

• Full UK driving licence

Highly Desirable

• Experience within air cargo logistics, EU groupage or international freight operations

• Background working within sectors such as air freight, EU transit, temperature-controlled logistics, event logistics or specialist freight

• Class 1 licence

• Good mechanical understanding of trucks and trailers
