An interesting opportunity has arisen for a bright, organised and autonomous Transport Manager to join a market leading business in Bedfordshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Ensuring all drivers comply with driver hours and driver rules and adhere to legislation including speed limits
• Ensuring that our vehicles are maintained properly, including the inspection of vehicles at the appropriate time and implementing actions to remedy any defects found
• Making and maintaining all necessary records to ensure adherence/compliance to legislative and environmental requirements including any third-party insurance claims;
• Managing the transport team in the allocation and prioritising of workload to increase efficiency
• Effective and regular liaising with all other relevant departments to ensure efficiency across our business
• Planning and routing drivers

The ideal Transport Manager will possess the following attributes/skills:

• Ideally at least 4 years'' experience in a similar logistics role
• Working knowledge of drivers rules and legislation
• Strong computer skills - including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as a minimum
• The ability to follow and provide clear instructions
• Strong organisational skills
• Ambitious, loyal and punctual nature
