Transport General Manager (Chilled)

GBR Recruitment Ltd are proudly working in an exclusivity deal with a rapidly expanding chilled / ambient warehouse and logistics business, who are recruiting for an experienced Transport General Manager (National CPC qualified and desirably IOSH qualified too), to ensure that the transport department operates in a highly efficient, cost effective lean manner, meeting customer SLA''s and ensuring the transport operation runs in a legal compliant manner at all times, along with maximising operational efficiencies, plus wherever possible increasing revenue levels / streams and increased profit margins within a highly competitive market place. You will be a transport and logistics professional with GM level experience, as well as having had previous exposure within the food, fresh produce and short shelf life products industries, ensuring products arrive on time and depart on time to the end using customer. Ideally you will have worked with the Big 4 food retailers and other leading businesses. BRC legislation knowledge and experience is also desirable, as in this role due to their customer base these are the standards the company must adhere to.
