Transport Controller/Planner

Our client is a major Freight Forwarding, Transport and Logistics provider based in Cannock. We are now recruiting for a Transport Controller / Planner working Mon - Fri 12pm - 8pm The role of Transport Controller / Planner is responsible for the efficient planning and coordination of UK road freight collections and deliveries, ensuring customer requirements are met while maximising operational efficiency. The role requires excellent organisational skills, strong communication with hauliers and customers, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced transport environment.The successful candidate will ensure all transport activities are completed in line with company procedures, customer expectations, and compliance requirements while maintaining accurate records across internal systems.Key Responsibilities Plan and schedule daily UK collections and deliveries. Monitor vehicle movements and proactively manage delays or service issues. Monitor daily transport activity to ensure planned work is completed successfully Liaise daily with hauliers to ensure collections and deliveries are completed as planned. Build and maintain strong working relationships with transport partners. Resolve transport-related issues in a professional and timely manner. Complete all transport-related administration accurately and within required timescales. Maintain accurate shipment records using internal transport management systems.
