Transport Assistant

Based near Hedge End, we are seeking an experienced Transport Assistant to support day-to-day transport delivery while maintaining strong customer relationships.This is a hands-on role combining operational coordination with customer ownership, working closely with planners, pallet network hubs, hauliers and yard teams to ensure safe, compliant and efficient transport execution.What''s on offer:Permanent positionMonday to Friday 8am - 6pmClear career progression23 days annual leave + Bank holidaysKey Responsibilities:Support daily transport operations and collaborate with planners and customers.Track loads and proactively manage delays or service risksAct as a key customer contact, providing updates and resolving queriesSupport KPI reporting and operational performance trackingMaintain accurate transport records and provide regular reporting on service levels, network performance and vehicle utilisation.Conduct yard checks to ensure asset availability and safety standardsWhat we''re looking for:Ideally some experience in transport, logistics or traffic operations is desirable but not essential.Understanding of the Pallet Network would be beneficial for this role.Awareness of transport compliance and defect reportingStrong administration and IT skillsExcellent communication and problem-solving abilitiesThis is a great opportunity for a proactive, organised transport professional looking to develop their career in a fast-paced logistics environment.
