Transport Assistant

Freightserve recruitment are looking for a Transport Assistant for a well-established niche sector Freight Forwarder based in the Feltham, Middlesex area. Key Responsibilities:- Co-ordinate and manage the company''s daily movements across the UK. Receive, review and process movement instructions and ensure all relevant information is accurately recorded. Plan and organise deliveries and collections in accordance with customer requirements, agreed schedules and operational capacity. Liaise with drivers and transport providers to allocate movements and communicate relevant instructions. Monitor the progress of movements from collection through to delivery. Maintain regular communication with drivers, customers, suppliers and internal teams throughout the movement process. Ensure that delivery and collection requirements, timings, locations and any specific instructions are clearly communicated. Monitor planned movements and identify potential delays or operational issues at the earliest opportunity. Take appropriate action to minimise disruption and ensure movements remain on schedule. Arrange alternative solutions where required due to vehicle availability, delays, breakdowns, cancellations or other unforeseen circumstances. Ensure completed movements are accurately recorded and all relevant documentation is obtained and processed.
