Location: Coton Road, CV11 5AA
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 6+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £ 17.85 per day

Responsibilities

  • Deliver transformation projects across the authority.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement culture through collaboration and leading by example.
  • Take ownership of project management with colleagues and deliver success for the authority and the Council.
Main Activities (Corporate)
  • Commit to the Council’s Vision and carry out work within the spirit and intention of its core values.
  • Understand and be aware of the concept of “Making Every Contact Count” (MECC), attending training where necessary.
  • Contribute to a creative and open environment within the Team where employees feel supported, involved, and consulted.
  • Utilize available technology to improve communication and service delivery within the Team, the Service Unit, Directorate, and the Council as a whole.
  • Carry out all work within the spirit and intent of relevant legislation and Council policies and procedures, such as Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, Customer Care, etc.
  • Undertake personal development commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the job.
Main Activities (Service Related)
  • Design, develop, monitor, and manage transformation projects across the authority.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders and partners to manage transformation projects, ensuring quality, appropriateness, and sustainability.
  • Manage the day-to-day work of the projects, manage expectations of other stakeholders, and have a clear idea of their role and deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively and at the right time with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the Transformation Team, clarifying and communicating goals and activities and the links between these and departmental or Council strategy.
  • Maintain accurate administrative and financial records and support the delivery of the Council’s programme management office.
  • Manage shared mailboxes, web page content, and other communications mediums as required.
  • Handle enquiries from internal and external clients, providing a high level of customer care.
  • Develop networks and leadership within stakeholder groups to ensure shared ownership of the project plans.
  • Request, receive, and update information from stakeholders to update project information as appropriate.
  • Process financial transactions (up to £10,000) and liaise with contractors/suppliers.
  • Record, manage, and report on the progress of projects and track benefits.
Person Specification
  • Experience:
    • Experience in project support, delivery, policy, and/or research.
    • Previous experience of successful project delivery within timescales and allocated budgets.
    • Experience of using monitoring systems to evaluate the success of service provision.
    • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary and multiagency context to support project delivery.
    • Previous experience of working in local government or complex organizations is desirable.
  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in any subject.
    • Project Management Qualification (Prince 2, AGILE, MSP) or equivalent or willingness to work towards.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Excellent ICT abilities including MS Office Packages, Project Management Systems, and Databases.
    • Able to work creatively and flexibly, taking a proactive approach to risk and issue management.
    • Able to understand, interpret, and model highly complex data and make appropriate assessments and recommendations.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks with attention to detail, without close supervision.
    • Self-motivated and proactive to implement and share new ways of working and improvements within the team and wider projects.
    • Team player with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Personal Qualities:
    • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure without impacting quality.
    • Team player, striving to achieve team objectives.
    • Self-aware of strengths and weaknesses and willingness to develop.
