Transactional Processing Manager based in Chorley, responsible for the effective and efficient running of the Accounts Payable and Receivable functions across TVS SCS, to ensure the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments and cash collection.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a geographically dispersed team of transactional processing clerks, maximising team capacity through efficient distribution of workload
  • Develop a full understanding of all aspects of purchase and sales ledger, and how it operates on a number of different IT systems, to enable management of the team and provision of hands on support as required
  • Support future initiatives to move to the consolidation of processing onto a single common IT system
  • Maintain accurate and up to date financial records
  • Ensure compliance with tax and company policies, and ensure adherence to all fraud risk measures
  • Oversee end to end process of processing supplier invoices and credit notes, accurate coding, approval in line with company policy and payment to suppliers
  • Understand and manage the debit note process and associated accounting and reconciliations
  • Ensure regular completion of supplier statement reconciliations
  • Respond to day to day escalation of queries from suppliers
  • Reviewing of and initial authorisation of weekly payment runs, performing all necessary controls and checks
  • Processing payments to suppliers through the bank, and allocation of cash received from customers
  • Co-ordinate credit control activity, including chasing of debts for a range of customers, and supporting credit control activity carried out in the wider Finance team
  • Responsible for ensuring periodic processing and payment of personal and credit card expenses through ExpenseIn, and maintenance of the configuration of and reporting from the system
  • Work with the Financial Accountant to support the completion of key period end reconciliations
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors
  • Continuously seek out process improvements
  • Other duties as required

KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Several years of previous experience in Transactional Processing teams at a senior supervisory or management level
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
