Training Needs Analyst (Engineering)
Barrow in Furness (hybrid working 2 days on site each fortnight) – 12 month contract – Pay rate £42.71 p/h PAYE basic (£48.92 including holiday pay) or £57.58 p/h Umbrella
We are looking to recruit a Senior Engineer to support our defence clients training service. You will focus on training needs analysis in accordance with DSAT for courseware directed at engineers and operators of complex submarine systems.
The Senior Engineer – Support Engineering (Training Services) will utilise best practice and subject matter technical expertise to conduct training needs analysis, learning design and data management to develop the next generation of submarines for UK armed forces and international customers.
Working as part of an integrated training solution, duties will require autonomous and team working with the support and guidance of a Principal Engineer – Support Engineering (Training Services) where necessary.
The duties of the role will require initiative and skill in discharging the training tasks in a positive manner, utilising professional training skillsets to produce consistent, quality and coherent training outputs. This role sits within the Support Engineering (Training Services) family of job roles, reporting to a Line Manager as required.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) in accordance with Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT)
- Identifying training gaps
- Producing TNA reports
- Production of innovative and engaging training solutions
- Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders as required
- Review of customer feedback ensuring current and developing training is fit for purpose
Requirements:
- Sound working knowledge of DSAT (or equivalent) and in the delivery of Industry Recognised compliant training deliverable outputs.
- Proven ability undertaking instructional activity to MoD personnel.
- Excellent communicator (verbal and written) and the ability to present to both internal and external partners.
- Able to write coherent documents and articulate what is required to be done.
- Sound knowledge of submarine design and/or operation.
Additional Information
The successful candidate will need to gain a UK MOD Security Clearance to SC level before starting. A new SC application will be sponsored if required.
