Training Administrator (Construction)
Location: Aston, Birmingham
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30am - 4:30pm
Contract: Full-Time, Maternity Cover (Up to 9 Months)
The Opportunity
An established and growing civil engineering and groundworks contractor is seeking an experienced Training Administrator to join its team on a maternity cover contract for up to nine months.
Operating nationally across major infrastructure, civil engineering and groundworks projects, the business works with some of the UK''s leading construction contractors and has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality projects safely and efficiently. Due to continued growth, there may be future opportunities within the business beyond the initial maternity cover period for the right candidate.
This position would suit an organised and detail-oriented administrator with previous experience coordinating construction-related training and a strong understanding of industry schemes such as CSCS, CPCS and CITB.
The Role
You will play a key role in coordinating training and development activities across the business, ensuring employees maintain the qualifications, certifications and competencies required to support operational delivery.
To be successful, you will have excellent organisational skills, confidence communicating with stakeholders at all levels, advanced Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating employee training requirements and identifying training priorities
- Booking training courses and managing delegate attendance
- Liaising with employees, managers and external training providers
- Maintaining accurate training records and certification documentation
- Managing and updating training databases and specialist software systems
- Producing monthly reports and training statistics
- Monitoring e-learning completion and compliance requirements
- Processing invoices, training costs and CITB grant claims
- Supporting the continuous development of the company''s training and competence processes
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience within an administrative role
- Strong awareness of construction training requirements, including CSCS, CPCS and CITB schemes
- Excellent organisational and data management skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong telephone and communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting fixed deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to quickly understand and process information accurately
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Desirable Experience
- 5+ years'' administrative experience
- Previous experience within the construction, civil engineering or groundworks sector
- GCSEs or equivalent qualifications
