The Opportunity

Are you an experienced security professional with a passion for helping people build confidence, develop new skills and progress into sustainable employment? We are looking for an enthusiastic Trainer - Security to join our Adult Skills Team within Independent Training Services.

In this rewarding role, you will plan and deliver innovative, engaging and motivational learning across security, employability and personal development programmes. You will support learners throughout their journey, from induction and individual guidance through to assessment, achievement and progression into work. You will create high-quality schemes of work, session plans and learning resources, embed English and maths, and ensure themes including safeguarding, Prevent, equality and diversity and British Values are meaningfully included in delivery.

You will assess progress, provide timely developmental feedback and maintain accurate learner records across paper-based and online systems. As a subject specialist, you will bring current knowledge of security, first aid and stewarding qualifications, helping the wider team provide relevant information, advice and guidance. There may also be opportunities to contribute to internal and external quality assurance activity within your specialist areas.

About You

You will be a positive and motivational trainer who can communicate effectively with learners, employers and colleagues at all levels. You will understand the security sector and be confident planning, delivering and assessing practical and classroom-based learning that supports learners to achieve and move closer to employment. You will be organised, adaptable and committed to continuous improvement, with the ability to build appropriate professional relationships and support learners who may display challenging behaviours. You will work effectively as part of a team while managing learner progress, attendance, engagement, outcomes and associated paperwork accurately and on time.
