Trainee Wireperson
-12.80 per hour, Burgess Hill, Monday to Thursday 7:00am to 3:45pm, Friday 7:00am to 11:30am, Permanent, 28 days holiday plus paid Christmas shutdown, BUPA healthcare after probation
The Role
An excellent opportunity for a Trainee Wireperson to join a well-established manufacturing business in Burgess Hill. Working within the Production team, the Trainee Wireperson will receive full training in cable assembly, loom building and panel wiring. This is a hands-on role offering long-term career development within a growing and supportive manufacturing environment. The role is based in a central town location and is suited to someone with a strong work ethic and an interest in manufacturing and engineering.
- Working from drawings, schedules and process instructions
- Using hand tools and crimping tools to complete assembly work
- Learning to assemble cable looms and cable builds
- Assisting with simple panel wiring assemblies
- Identifying cable and wire types and their applications
- Working with both single-core and multi-core cable assemblies
- Following quality standards and departmental procedures
- Completing production documentation accurately
- Supporting the wider production team as required
- Undertaking further training opportunities in testing, cabinet build and off-site work where appropriate
Requirements
To be successful in this Trainee Wireperson role, candidates should demonstrate a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic. Previous manufacturing, assembly, production or electrical assembly experience would be highly desirable, although full training will be provided. It is desirable that applicants are computer literate, numerate and possess a good command of the English language. Excellent attention to detail, the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and a careful, methodical approach to work are highly desirable. The successful Trainee Wireperson will be flexible, reliable and keen to develop new skills within a manufacturing environment. This role could suit someone who has worked as a Production Operative, Assembly Operative or Electrical Assembler.
