Trainee Toolmaker

Red Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Trainee Toolmaker on behalf of a well-established engineering and manufacturing company.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career in toolmaking. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will receive hands-on training in the manufacture, maintenance and repair of tooling while gaining valuable experience within a busy production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the manufacture and maintenance of tooling and precision components
• Supporting experienced Toolmakers with repairs and modifications
• Using a variety of engineering equipment and hand tools
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Carrying out routine inspections and quality checks
• Maintaining a clean and organised work area
• Following all Health & Safety procedures
• Continuously developing your technical skills through on-the-job training

Requirements:

• A qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Toolmaking or a similar engineering discipline
• A genuine interest in pursuing a career in toolmaking
• Good mechanical aptitude and practical skills
• Ability to read engineering drawings (advantageous but not essential)
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Reliable, motivated and able to work as part of a team
