East Herts Council is looking for a Trainee Solicitor to join our Legal team. The role provides exposure to a wide range of legal disciplines, with a view to your qualification and admission as a solicitor.Responsibilities
Develop your skills and knowledge of the legal profession, including advocacy and oral presentations; case and transaction management; client care; communication skills; document drafting and preparation; interviewing and advising; interpretation and research.Carry a mixed caseload of local government work under supervision, in line with experience gained during the Training Contract.Where deemed appropriate, advocate in appropriate uncontested hearings in civil and criminal matters, presenting the Council’s case in the Magistrates, County Court or other tribunal forum.Draft contracts, agreements and deeds relating to all aspects of the Council’s business, as well as instructions to Counsel and reports.About You / Qualifications
