Trainee Occupational Health Nurses
The Northern Ireland Civil Service is now recruiting Trainee Occupational Health Nurses to join their Occupational Health and Wellbeing Services. The Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service functions as a multi-disciplinary team, committed to the training and development of its staff. Job Summary This role offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the health and wellbeing of the civil service workforce while advancing your professional nursing career. The purpose of this role is to ensure that the Service is responsive to the existing and emerging healthcare needs of the NICS and client bodies. This includes professional advice on a wide range of workplace health related issues, health promotion, health protection programmes and input to policy and procedure development. Main Duties The screening of pre-employment health assessments and fitness for proposed post in line with departmental standard operating procedures and level of competence. Screen and carry out health surveillance assessments of individuals to satisfy statutory obligations and departmental policy. Screen, assess and report on the fitness of employees, including those on sickness absence, and to advise regarding adjustments Participate in occupational vaccination programmes Be actively involved in the development and implementation of health-related programmes and policies Participate in continuous improvement and audit activities.
