Trainee Finance Assistant

Must have’s

• GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade 5 or above, or equivalent
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify key information
• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work under guidance without close supervision
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• Keen to learn and develop within finance and the insurance industry

So, what will you be doing?

Prepare journals and support monthly balance sheet reconciliations

Assist with paperwork for investment and foreign exchange transactions

Support daily invoice raising and cashbook completion

Prepare bi-weekly cashflow forecasts

Run ad-hoc Power BI reports for the management team

Support the preparation of PowerPoint presentations and management information

Assist with annual financial statements for subsidiary entities

Document financial controls and processes using MS Visio

Support process improvements and the wider audit process

Contribute to regular reporting to meet business requirements

Assist with ad-hoc accounting requests to support timely and accurate financial reporting

Work closely with colleagues across the Finance team to understand processes and controls
