Trainee Field Service Engineer

The Opportunity
An opportunity to join a small but growing company, installing, servicing and repairing large format printers for a major manufacturer.
This role would suit someone starting their career or looking for a career change, with an interest in driving, fixing things and mechanical or electrical engineering. Previous experience is desirable but not essential - enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and a long-term interest in the business are key.

Location: Leeds Area - home-based with travel
Salary: Starting at -25,000, with more available for the right applicant
Vehicle: Company car or fully expensed use of your own vehicle

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Install, service and repair large format printers at customer sites.
• 
  Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and basic IT-related issues.
• 
  Provide excellent customer service and build positive customer relationships.
• 
  Identify potential equipment upgrades and new sales opportunities.
• 
  Travel mainly across the Leeds to Newcastle corridor, with nationwide travel when required.
• 
  Attend overseas training and stay away overnight when necessary, with hotel expenses covered.

What We''re Looking For

• 
  A practical interest in fixing things and understanding how equipment works.
• 
  An interest in electrical and mechanical engineering.
• 
  A basic understanding of computer networks and Microsoft applications.
• 
  A full, clean driving licence and a valid passport.
• 
  Applicants must be over 21.
• 
  A passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
• 
  A willingness to travel extensively, with approximately 30,000 miles of driving per year.
• 
  Flexibility around working hours and occasional overnight stays.
• 
  A keen, focused approach and a willingness to learn.
• 
  An interest in photography would be beneficial but is not essential.

Working Arrangements
You will be based from home and mainly cover a defined territory between Leeds and Newcastle, with some nationwide travel. Working hours will vary depending on customer requirements, with a mixture of early finishes and longer days.
