Trainee Butcher

We are currently recruiting for Trainee Butchers to work for an established food production company based in Southampton. This role offers candidates a career opportunity to become an experienced knife hand within the catering sector. Duties include: Preparing and cutting various meat types according to size, weight and type specifications. Maintain a clean and organised workspace in line with food hygiene. Working in a temperature controlled (chilled) environment. Ensure equipment is properly maintained and cleaned. Follow cutting instructions as directed. Working in a team. Requirements: Experience in a kitchen or catering environment. Knowledge of food prepararion and handling. Basic knife skills and experience of dicing, cutting and preparation. Work efficiently under pressure to deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards. Excellent communication skills. The role will be 12 weeks temporary-permanent, working Monday-Friday on a very early shift pattern and transport is preferred due to the rural location and limited public transport links.
