Trainee Accounting Technician (AAT)
Location: Burnham-on-Sea
Hours: 36.25 hours per week Monday to Friday
Salary: From £21,000 per annum
Hawk 3 Talent Solutions, operating as an employment business, are recruiting for 2 Trainee Accounting Technicians to join our clients well known accountancy firm in their Burnham-on-Sea branch.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is either brand new to accountancy or already part AAT qualified, looking to build a rewarding career with a supportive and professional firm.

As a Trainee Accounting Technician, you''ll combine practical, hands-on experience with theoretical study towards your AAT qualification under an apprenticeship agreement.
The programme covers Level 3 and Level 4 AAT apprenticeships, giving you a solid grounding in areas such as:
- Bookkeeping and accounting standards
Personal and business tax
Financial reporting and analysis
Our client will provide full funding for your training, support and mentoring throughout your journey, and pay you your full salary while you attend classes or study. You''ll also benefit from regular pay reviews as you progress.
Around 80% of your time will be spent working directly with their team, gaining valuable client experience. You''ll be involved in:
- Preparing financial information, reports, and returns
Providing personal and company tax computations
Preparing VAT returns and bookkeeping services
Supporting information gathering and analysis to help clients make business decisions
Using specialist software to record and manage financial transactions
This blend of training and experience will equip you with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to build a long-term career in accountancy.
About you:
- A solid academic record - typically strong GCSE and/or A-level results (or equivalent). Other academic pathways will also be considered.
A strong work ethic with a professional, team-focused approach
A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to pick up new IT systems quickly
Strong analytical, numerical, and methodical skills
A positive attitude - friendly, personable, and confident
Resilience, adaptability, and the ability to multi-task
Good organisation, attention to detail, and initiative
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
