Trainee Accountant

Robert Half is delighted to be working with a growing independent accountancy firm in Edinburgh who look to add a new Trainee Accountant to their tight knit team.As a Trainee Accountant, you''ll play a key supporting role within the client services team, helping to deliver accurate and timely financial information. You''ll assist with core compliance tasks, contribute to the smooth running of client accounts, and gain exposure to a wide range of accounting processes.You''ll work closely with senior team members and have the opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.Suitable applicants must have prior experience of working within an accountancy practice setting. Day-to-day responsibilities include:Assisting in the preparation of year-end accounts using IRISSupporting the completion of corporation tax and self-assessment returnsPreparing VAT returns and reviewing data for accuracyResponding to client queries in a timely and professional mannerAssisting with bookkeeping and management accounts preparationMaintaining Xero certification and supporting clients with cloud software queriesEnsuring compliance with AML procedures under supervisionContributing to internal process improvements and team initiativesSupporting ad hoc tasks and projects as directed by senior staff or directorsAbout YouWe''re looking for someone who''s enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a practice environment.
