Trainee Accountant

Proactive Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Accountancy Practice in Wolverhampton, who are looking to appoint a Trainee Accountant.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and motivated individual, who is looking to start a rewarding career in Accountancy.

No previous experience is required. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in accountancy and business.

Hours: Mon-Fri | 37.5 hours per week

Salary: Up to -27,000 per annum.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Assisting with bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records-
• Processing client accounting information
• Preparing VAT returns
• Assisting with the preparation of Year End and Management Accounts
• Assisting with Personal and Corporate tax compliance work
• Using cloud accounting software such as Xero and Sage
• Communicating with clients to obtain information and answer routine queries

Ideal Candidate:

• Has a genuine interest in accountancy, finance and business
• Is motivated to learn and develop professionally
• Has strong numerical and analytical skills
• Demonstrates excellent attention to detail
• Is organised, reliable and able to manage their workload effectively
• Has good communication and interpersonal skills
• Is confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Works well as part of a team
• Has achieved GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
