Trainee Accountant

Your new companyHays Accountancy and Finance are partnering with a successful and established SME that are part of a group to recruit a dynamic and driven Trainee Accountant for their site based in Ledbury, Herefordshire. This is an exciting opportunity to join a close-knit finance team, where you will report directly to the Finance Manager. You will be looking to develop your career in accounting while gaining practical experience within the manufacturing sector. The role is varied and hands-on, involving day-to-day financial operations, through to assisting with month-end duties and maintaining accurate financial records. The position will offer a study package for financial qualification AAT, CIMA or ACCA along with the opportunity for genuine career development.Your new roleYour key duties will involve assisting with month-end and year-end processes, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, supporting the preparation of management accounts, along with assisting with stock and inventory reconciliations. You will support payroll administration and processing, assist with VAT returns and statutory submissions, support budgeting/forecasting processes, producing reports within MS Excel, along with supporting internal/external audit requirements. You will be involved in all purchase ledger processes, including processing supplier invoices, reconciling supplier statements and preparing payment runs for approval.
