Trade Counter Assistant

My client is an established, well-known company within the Fluid Power sector and due to growth, they are looking for someone to join their depo as a Trade Counter Assistant. As a site-based Trade Counter Assistant you will be working closely with several teams within the business and dealing with clients who will come in to site or make enquiries over the phone or online.

Trade Counter Assistant and Warehouse Operative

Birmingham

Hours: 8:30-5pm Monday – Thursday & 8:30-4:30pm on a Friday (39.5 hours)

Pay: £27k-£29k, 24 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, pension scheme

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to -

• Assisting on the Trade Counter when customers visit site – identification of products / hydraulic systems and problems and providing a resolution to these customers
• Picking and packing hydraulic and pneumatic goods ready for dispatch to customers
• Helping with goods inwards when required
• Potentially also manufacturing hydraulic hoses for customers who visit the trade counter
• Ad-hoc assistance on customer sites for bin-fill stock replenishment

To Apply you must have or hold -

• Previous experience of customer service, internal or external sales in an engineering environment is essential
• Ideally a knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic fittings
• A pro-active approach to work, an enquiring mind and an ability to work under pressure and prioritise activities
• Highly effective communication skills and ability to liaise and influence other departments
• Have a team player mentality
• Ideally hold a full clean driving licence
• Be keen and capable to develop specialist hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge
