The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Town Planner to join an established planning consultancy based in Shrewsbury. The company works across a diverse range of planning projects, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to develop their expertise while contributing to a variety of residential, commercial and development-led schemes.

Requirements:

• A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline
• Previous experience within a planning consultancy or local authority is desirable
• Working towards, or already holding, MRTPI chartership
• Good knowledge of UK planning legislation, policy and procedures
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage workloads effectively and work both independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities:

• Preparing and submitting planning applications
• Undertaking planning appraisals and providing planning advice to clients
• Supporting the preparation of planning statements and reports
• Liaising with local planning authorities, clients and other stakeholders
• Monitoring planning policy and relevant legislative changes
• Assisting with a range of residential, commercial and mixed-use development projects
