The successful Town Planner can expect to take on a varied workload, preparing applications for land, residential and commercial developments. Ideally candidates will have a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant planning discipline and be MRTPI qualified although candidates working towards this will also be considered. A minimum of two years post-qualification town planning experience (within the private sector) is essential as is the ability to prepare high quality written reports.
