Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading multi-disciplinary property consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their growing Bristol team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a planner with 2+ years'' experience who is looking to take the next step in their consultancy career, gain greater project exposure and continue developing their technical and client-facing experience.
The Role
Joining an established planning team, you''ll work across a varied portfolio of projects covering Residential, Retail, Healthcare, Automotive & Roadside and Commercial sectors.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and managing the preparation and submission of planning applications, appeals and pre-application enquiries
* Undertaking planning appraisals and providing planning advice to clients
* Researching and interpreting planning policy, legislation and local planning matters
* Preparing planning reports, statements and supporting documentation
* Liaising with Local Planning Authorities, statutory consultees, consultants and other stakeholders
* Attending site visits, client meetings, project meetings and planning committees where required
* Supporting planning negotiations and progressing applications through the planning process
* Providing clear and commercially focused planning advice
* Managing your own workload and delivering projects within agreed deadlines
* Maintaining high standards of work in line with internal QA procedures
* Supporting client relationship management and wider business development activity
The Candidate
We''re looking for a motivated planning professional with at least 2 years'' relevant experience who is keen to progress within a leading consultancy.
You''ll ideally have:
- 2+ years'' experience within town planning
* Previous consultancy or relevant planning experience
* A degree in Town Planning or a related subject
* Experience with planning applications, appeals and/or pre-application advice
* A strong understanding of the UK planning system and planning policy
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* The ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
* A proactive and commercially aware approach
* MRTPI status or a clear ambition to work towards chartership
* A genuine interest in developing your career within planning consultancy
